There are many different activities that consume our time on a daily basis and life never seems to slow down. Our schedules are jam packed with many important things, and it seems hard to find time to even breathe. We are so busy packing lunches, making conference calls, finding time to exercise, serving at church, being involved in sports activities, grocery shopping, and of course you must make time to watch your favorite T.V. show! This doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what we need to squeeze into our weekly schedules. It is not my intention to overwhelm you, but to make you think about what you make time for in a week. My hope is that you will think about how much time you are spending talking with Jesus as a family during your busy weeks. Yes! I mean actually taking time to go before His throne with your spouse and children and make your requests known to God. There is no better thing to do as a family than to pray to our God who loves us and listens to us. Read the following verse as a family during your next meal and talk about the meaning and importance of prayer.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds, through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

I do not know your family dynamic or what your present needs are, but I know this verse is a great passage of scripture that all of our families need to live by regularly. If we live by this verse, I am confident it will bring a peace and calmness to our homes that is so needed. So slow down, talk to God, and allow the Lord to work. It is “Worth the Time.”
